Denture Relines & Repairs

Denture Relines & Repairs

We specialize in Denture Relines.  A reline is required every 2 years as changes might have occurred to your original fit, usually caused by bone and tissue shrinkage, and in some cases due to patient illness.

PRO TIP: The average denture patient looses half a milliliter of jaw bone per year.

Provided your existing teeth and any acrylic bases are still intact and in good shape, we can perform a reline in a short amount of time.  Your Denturist will take new impressions, which will be used to create the reline. This process confirms the correct fit and your dentures will be good as new without any aesthetic changes.

In some cases, the pink material of your dentures that appear as dental gums also need to be replaced.  This procedure is called a re-base.  As above, no changes will be made to your existing teeth or how your dentures look, other than having a fresh new pink look to the artificial gum-line.

Fortunately, repairing a broken denture can be done in the same day!

There are different circumstances that could lead to a damaged or broken denture.  At Olds Denture and Implant Centre we offer our patients on-site denture repair to fix damaged or fractured dentures and restore them back to their original condition on a same day basis.

Our dental technicians will assess and complete the actual repair work. We will advise you of the condition of you denture once it has been repaired and will ensure that the repairs are perfect and that the dentures are adjusted properly before you leave our clinic.

Advantage of Treatment

A denture reline is best defined as a resurfacing of the side of the denture that contacts the soft tissues within the mouth. The purpose of a denture reline is to ensure the denture fits securely and comfortably.  Relining your dentures is a good idea if they are relatively new, in good shape, or if your gums are not shrinking quickly.
